Drake Busath has had Italy-on-the-brain since 1977 when he lived and worked for 2 years in Northern Italy. He returns every year 2 or 3 times to visit and get his “fix” of Italian images, cuisine and attitude adjustment. Drake claims no Italian blood and is no more than a visitor there, but one with a true passion for Italian culture.
In 1995 Drake, Michael Taylor and Helen Yancy were visiting Italy when the idea arose of organizing a photography workshop there. The idea became a successful series of tour, photo workshops and cooking classes. ItalyWorkshops.com celebrates it’s 13th workshop season in the fall of 2009.
Michael and Helen played a huge part in making this a successful venture, lending their famous names and considerable talents. Other great photographers have joined in as guest instructors; Tim & Bev Walden, Kevin Kubota, Jeff Allred, Craig Strong and Kenny Benson.
